Dr. Abdulai Issaka holds an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom and a PhD in Commerce with a major in Business Management from the Adventist University of the Philippines.
He is a seasoned academic and professional with a diverse background in business management, marketing, and academia. As a lecturer at Valley View University since 2009, Dr. Issaka has not only delivered lectures but has also contributed significantly to the institution. Serving in various leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Management Studies and Marketing, he demonstrated his ability to manage departments, implement academic programs, and mentor students. His commitment to academic excellence is evident through his engagement in research activities, resulting in several peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Issaka’s expertise extends to marketing strategy, entrepreneurship management, and quality management. He has shared his knowledge in various capacities, presenting at conferences and facilitating workshops for different organizations in the areas of management and marketing strategy. His dedication to community service is reflected in his involvement in numerous committees and boards at both Valley View University and various educational and community organizations. He is the Chairman of Board of Governors of Istiqaamah Senior High School in Wenchi, The Acting Board Chairman of Kokroko Halal Co-operative Society also based in Wenchi, A member of the National Council for Islamic Education Unit. In addition, he works with Transforming Teaching, Education and Learning (T-TEL) as a facilitator and contributed a lot to the founding of Al-Faruq College of Education where he served as the acting College Secretary for a couple of years. In addition, he works as a Marketing Orientation Project Lead at Valley View University.
With a wealth of experience beyond academia, including roles as a Customer Service Executive in the UK and administrative positions in Ghana, Dr. Issaka possesses strong leadership, research, and organizational skills. As a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom, and proficiency in English and Twi, he brings a global perspective and cultural sensitivity to his work. Dr. Issaka’s passion for education, research, entrepreneurship, and community development underscores his commitment to making a positive impact in both academic and societal realms.
